Master Classes 2000
November 11 and 12, 2000
St. Thomas University
Houston
In the year 2000, on November 11 and 12, Chopin Society of Houston organized the workshop with master classes and non-competitive recitals for the first time. The event was then called The Polish Music Festival and promoted Polish music composed by those known and frequently performed composers like Chopin, Lutoslawski, Szymanowski, and Wieniawski, and lesser known, contemporary composers presenting their works often for the first time in Houston.
That year we were honored by the presence of Polish composer Jaroslaw Golembiowski, whose works were performed by three students marking the pieces’ Houston premiere.
Master Classes were presented by two Polish outstanding pianists and pedagogues Nina Drath and Dariusz Pawlas and were designed to work on the interpretation of music of Fryderyk Chopin.
