Master Classes 2002
October 26 and 27
University of St. Thomas, Houston
Houston
In 2002, on October 26 and 27 a first event dedicated exclusively to works by Fryderyk Chopin took place. The events were gaining popularity and the number of participating students interested in Chopin’s music was increasing, so with regret, but also with pride and new focus on Chopin only, the Chopin Society of Houston narrowed down their activities. This decision was not easy, but very needed.
During the 2002 event we had master classes presented by Nina Drath, Dr. Dariusz Pawlas and Dr. Clive Swansbourne. Also we organized a poem contest, essay contest, and games based on knowledge of life and music of Chopin. Students learned a lot, and continue asking when we will have those again.
